MHSA to be 50/50 cash recipient at Royal Game in in the New Year

The MHSA is thrilled to share that we’ve been selected as the 50/50 draw recipient for the Victoria Royals hockey game on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. 

Come cheer for the Victoria Royals as they take on the Everett Silvertips — puck drops at 7:05 p.m for an exciting night of hockey and community support. 

New this year for up-Island Cardiac Dudes and their friends and families afar, you don’t have to be at the game to take part in the 50/50 draw! 

We’ve purchased a limited number of 50 game tickets, available for $25 each with a portion of every ticket directly supporting the MHSA. 

Tickets are selling quickly so if you’d like to purchase a ticket to the game and help support a great cause, please reach out to Steve McKinnon directly via mckinnon.steve@gmail.com to reserve yours. 

At the game, six MHSA members have committed to work a couple of tables, selling tickets and talking to hockey fans who wish to learn more about our group. — Clarence Gray

MHSA's Summer Social at noon July 26, 2025 with lunch at The Lakehouse, Shawnigan Lake

Proprietor Jill Tulloch of The Lakehouse at Shawnigan looks forward to serving MHSA’s summer social at Noon Saturday, July 26. Family members and friends will join Cardiac Dudes at the venue for the second consecutive year due to success of last year’s successful event on the establishment’s west-arm Shawnigan Lake patios.

The Lakehouse menu is creative and varied, offering for those who require, gluten-free options and for questions relating to other dietary restrictions, you  may call Raven or Shana at the Lakehouse (250)929-2555.

The third Tuesday of each month is typically reserved for special topics and may include guest speakers.
